(no subject)

Due to some serious complications in my pregnancy, and the very real chance of my baby not making it, I am reconsidering names for the baby.  As of yet, I don't know the gender but before the complications, my husband and I picked out names for either.  Since we know the prognosis isn't good, we're considering alternate names for the baby.  That's where I need help.

The original names we picked were Clark William and Neela Celine.  I love these names and have every intention of using them, if possible, in the future.  I'd just like to have some alternates just in case something happens to the baby.

The names that have caught my eye so far:

Connor
Leo
Colby

Ivy
Vivi

As you can tell, I lean towards very masculine boy names and very feminine girl names.  Any suggestions (+ middle names, if you want) are appreciated.

i second this entire post. the names suggested are great because of the faith and meaning behind them.

I agree to use names that having a meaning like grace hope or faith. Kind of like a name that is prayer like or has a very strong meaning- it is tough to think of a boy names that might be equilvalent..
maybe Phoenix- like the bird that turns to ashes and rises again
or Orion- the hunter with a place in the night sky.
but, hope you want have to use them- best.

:( I'm so sorry. *sending you positive vibes*

I agree that you can always use something like Faith or Angel for a girl. Boys I'm not really sure. The ones you have chosen are nice.

I've also heard of a guy named Angel. He was a sweetheart.

Angel as a man's name is fairly common in Hispanic culture. Not so much anywhere else.

surprisingly he was actually half white and half black. I had never heard of it besides him, so that's interesting new news for me, cool. lol

I am very sorry. That must be hard.

Some feminine girl names:
Lily
Ella
Juliet
Mia
Rose/Rosie/Rosalie
Evangeline

I'm very bad with boy names, unfortunately. Good luck to you, hope it will be ok.

Leo and Ivy are my favorites out of the alternates you listed.

You are in my thoughts and prayers...best wishes, and I hope everything turns out okay!

Edit: I saw you also asked for middle name suggestions. What about Ivy Noelle?

I am so sorry about the complications with your baby. I don't have any specific name suggestions for you, but if I was in your situation, I would probably choose the name of a family member or someone else who was important to me whose name I would not otherwise consider using. I might change the name slightly so it suited my taste better but still honor the person. For the middle name, I would either use another family name or something like Faith or Grace.

*hugs* for your difficult situation.

I love the idea of using Vivian or Vivienne (nn Vivi). It means ALIVE.

Other nice names (meanings in parentheses):

Zoe (Life)
Nadia (Hope)
Hannah (Grace)
Valerie (Strength)
Celia (Heaven)

Gabriel (God is my Strength)
Zeke (God will Strengthen)
Geoffrey (God peace)
Ian (God is gracious)
Jeremy (God will uplift)
