I might have found the winner in the "worst name ever" contest. I saw on a baby board somewhere and I'm really hoping whomever it was doesn't use LJ because they've got to be the only person dumb enough to do this.

With the trend of changing spellings and vowels etc to make a whole new name, I bring you a variant on Melody

Maladie

Has this person never heard of the word malady? Why not just name your kid DISEASED. I feel so bad for that girl - she's already a couple years old.

Oh...it's proounded like Melody? I was giving it the beginning to "Maddie" and the ending to "Melody". She'll forever have people mispronouncing her name- that the kiss of death for kids. And it's even worse because it's a decent name.

I can't even remember which site I saw it on, but it was posted in her signature. There was her kid, its age, and lists of potential new names / due date etc. She seemed legit.

I hope it was just someone's idea that is a name on their favourites list and not "I just named my baby Maladie".... hopefully there is still time for a simple vocabulary lesson and this could be avoided
