I agree, why leave out the D? Sometimes English spelling seems optional but in this case, the double letter changes the sound of the vowel. Same with adding or removing an ending-E, or changing an i to a y...often it changes the pronunciation.

Also, learning to read before naming your kid is a good thing. Word to my husband's cousin, Kailani is not pronounced "Kay-lyn."

THIS THIS THIS! So many people don't understand this very simple rule.

Brynleigh is too trendy for me.

They aren't pronouncing Jude like Judy are they? That would be too cutesy. If they are pronouncing it like it should be pronounced, it's a boy's name.

Maden and Madden cannot be pronounced the same. The missing "d" in Maden changes it to MAID-in, not MAD-in.

Brynnleigh Michelle Pearl (Pearl and Michelle are family names) - thank the gods for family names...

Jude is a guy's name to me but he... I'm always up for some guy names on girls.

Maden is missing a 'd' obviously.

I have a hard time thinking of Drew as a guy's name because I right away think of Drew Barrymore but the names aren't bad, just not my style at all.

Pearl is one of my favorites, and I like Jude... but for a boy. Jack is adorable!

UGH. Jude Marie really irritates me. Why not name your daughter Kevin Elizabeth or Matthew Ashely or Joseph Annie or some other man's name that is totally and completely a masculine name?! Holy crap. I'm guessing it bothers me so much because we like Judah and I can't imagine it as anything *but* a man's name.
I really hate the boy's-name-as-hipster-girl's-name trend in general.

And I agree with Arbus, Maden makes me want to say Maiden.
I know someone who just had twins named Brynnleigh and Brielle! Not my taste, but not as bad as Jude Marie. ;)

I dislike Brynnleigh, and do not like Jude for a girl.
Maden is going to spend his entire life correcting the pronunciation and spelling of his name.

Jack Mathew, Chad Ryan, Drew Micheal - nice sibset, but "Micheal"? uh...

I like Jude.. but on a boy or maybe as a nn for something.
I dislike the other names.

The sibset is cute, not really my style but cute all the same :)

ughgrrwtf JUDE ON A GIRL?! :(
I have been seeing this way too much lately and it's making me sad. Our first son (if we ever have one, which i sososo hope we do!), will be named Jude, and if Jude goes the way of Morgan, where everyone starts to think that it is a girl's name and it is *weird* to give it to a boy, I will not be happy. :(
