I could be completely off base and this could be a totally legit name that I've never heard before, but it reminds me of when instead of naming their kids Ireland, they use Irelyn, because if you say if fast, they sound the same. So, instead of Holland, it's Hollyn. Whatever it is, I don't like it. It looks like a typo.
The spelling of the name isn't all that bad, but I'm just not a fan of the sound of it. If it's pronounced Holl-een then that's a different story, but if it's pronounced Holl-lin, then it just doesn't sound very feminine. I prefer Holly. That's my two cents. :)
I want to pronounce it Hollin, which makes me think of a boy. It also kind of sounds like...trying to use Holland as a regular name. I don't like it on a girl, but am slightly more tolerant of it on a boy.
Some people said it might be pronounced Holl-een, which I find very ugly. Way worse than Hollin, imo. :(
