what do you think of:
ammon (m)
aster (f)
etta (f)

also, do you think darby for a boy sounds too feminine?

Ammon is interesting, but so uncommon I'd be concerned about no one being able to figure it out (i.e. a kid would have to repeat it a lot).

Etta is cute.

I don't like Darby.

i love etta. darby for a boy sounds too feminine to me. that name is kind of ruined for me because i knew a girl once named darby stoner and...yeah.

I dated a guy named Dahbie (prn just the same) I don't recommend it as a name.

Yes. It was weird. Everyone presumed it was spelt Darby until they saw it written down.

love etta and aster (i <3 the flower). darby is similar to aubrey...male name but sounds feminine these days.

Ammon - Not a fan of the sound
Aster - Nice
Etta - Very adorable, but very nicknamey. I don't think it should be a full name.
Darby - Definitely masculine. I think it would sound awful on a girl.

Ammon--the name of a prophet from the Book of Mormon. Not a bad thing from my point of view, being LDS myself. I can't say it's a sound I'm particularly fond of, though.

Aster--pretty, and yet, no. That first syllable lends itself to all manner of unsavory nicknames.

Etta--ick. All I can see is a chubby, elderly black lady. Nothing against chubby, elderly black ladies, but I don't really want my baby to look like one. I also just don't think it's very pretty.

I do think Darby is a bit feminine, but not disastrously so. It could be made to work.

I really like Darby, actually. For a boy or a girl.

I was not even aware that Darby could be female until I joined this community, to be honest. I think it's an ugly name regardless of gender, but were I to use it, I'd use it on a boy.

I've seen someone named Aster before, just like the flower. I like it, but there's always the chance that people will get it mixed up with Esther.

Ammon I'm not a fan of, but I do like Etta.
