Girl in January

MY SIL and her husband have decided to name their girl Emily Claire. While it's NMS really, I think it's a good name, esp for them.

My husband has said that he shall call his niece Eclair (that's my fault as I was the one to bring that to his attention). SIL is fine with that, I've told her that I'll just call her all different kinds of pastries. I'm sure in the end Emily will get called all the standard short forms of her name.

What's your favorite nickname for Emily?

I like it. Both nice, classic names. So they're a little overused lately (which is why I'd steer clear of Emily, for sure), but they're still good names.

I think Emmy/Emma are a cute nick names for Emily.

My daughter is Emilie Claire! :) Obviously I love it. Only a hand full of people have ever called her Eclair. I just give them a look...lol.

When first learning to talk, my daughter could only say "Emmie" so that's what we call her a lot of the time. Or "Em." I also like Ellie but that has never caught on.

Aw, it is a cute name. And Eclair is cute and clever, especially if it's just a familial nickname.

I got married and gained four nephews and a niece, in addition to the niece and nephew I already had, and my favorite new nephew (shhh) is nicknamed Doober/Doobertron. I have no idea why.
