Pixie

Before I begin, I should point out that Pixie is not, nor will it ever be, on my list - I was just wondering if people consider it a name now? Because Pixie Lott is currently topping the charts here in the UK, Pixie Geldolf (one of Bob and Paula's oddly named brood) is getting more of her own press attention, and I've recently been told about an artist called Pixie Acai...

In your opinion, is Pixie still in the stage name/stupid celeb name category, or, like it or loathe it, has it crossed over into that 'Miley' territory where people are considering it for their daughters?

Considering how I used to ride a horse by that name, I only see it as an animal name. I think it's a little odd on a human.

same - our cat is named Pixel, and called Pixie regularly.

Pixie is a stage/celebrity name, but I don't think it's completely awful. It would be a cute nickname. It's hard to see on a person.

Pixie isn't a name I would put on a birth certificate, but if someone wants to call themselves that it's up to them.

I think it's pretty weird on anyone over the age of 10.

I'm kind of neutral about it.. I wouldn't use it myself but people could do much worse. I'd rather someone name their child Pixie than Myckynzee any day.

I can imagine us considering it, if our cat wasn't named Pixel and called Pixie/Pix all the time.

I never heard of Pixie being used as a name until this post.

It's still in the ridiculous name category for me! And this is coming from someone who is into unusual names =).

I can go either way; I don't hate it, but I would never use it.

Right now I'd say it's a celebrity name only. But of course, that can easily change.

For me it just sounds like a celebrity/animal/possible nickname for I don't know what.

Well I'm not one to talk I guess because one of my middle names is Pixel.
I would never choose it but I certainly don't hate it.
