What are some names Edie could be a nickname for besides Edith or Eden? I love Edie but don't like either of those names.

When I saw Edie the first thing I thought of was the show Absolutely Fabulous. :P Though Edina's nickname was spelled "Eddy".

that's funny because we liked the name Eden for our daughter but chose against it because we didn't like Edie

I love the name Eden and it never occurred to me that Edie could happen. Ugh.

Aww, I love Edith nn Edie! The only other ones I can think of are Edwige, Benedicte, Wilfreda, Jedidah, Alfreda, Elfreda, Theodora, and a bit of a stretch, but maybe Frederique, Frederika, or Meredith?

No. I don't particularly enjoy Alfreda, but Theodora is awesome.

You could always do Edie as a play on the initials for first and middle - like Evelyn Dawn or Emma Delores or any two E and D names you like and think go together.

The only Edie I've met was an Elizabeth.

I really like Theodora (Adora is another sweet NN for it), but some names that haven't been mentioned that could contract to Edie:

Bedelia
Theda
Winifred
Frederica
Kennedy
Meredith
Remedios
