I love it. Love. Lou is such a great name for a girl.

And I know everyone is probably going to comment on how it's a nickname (and it sort of is) but I actually prefer it this way. I'm not really a fan of Louise/Luella etc.

I've always known Lou as being a male name. My poor mother was named Tommie Lou...2 boyish names, and she never let her mother forget it. heh.

I think it's cute, and I bet it's short for something. Her other children have traditional first names so I'm guessing Louisa or something similar.
