One of my friends just had a little girl. They named her Clementine Blossom - nn Lulu. I think it's really cute!!!

Maybe I don't fully grasp the concept of "hipster", but Clementine Blossom sounds a lot more "hippie" to me, given the nature theme.
I'm curious about Lulu too, it sounds lovely!

I googled it on the Urban dictionary and "hipster" basically is the modern bohemian. Nothing nature-related anyhow.

I adore the name Clementine but I think the whole thing might be a little too cutesy for my taste. Lulu is a nice nickname, but I think it'd be better suited for something like Louise or Louisa.

Clementine is one of my least favourite names, I can't stand it, and Blossom is screaming 90s sitcom at me right now. The entire thing is so cutesy, they just would've been better off naming her Lulu.

My sons name is Israel Jameson, nickname Ike.

My friends name is Regina, nickname Jean.

Nicknames dont have to be derived from the name, I think Lulu is cute.

I think that Ike is an accepted nn for Israel and Jean is definitely from Regina - it's the middle syllable.

At least Blossom is the middle name...and I can picture Clementine on an adult woman as well as a baby. She'll probably stop going by Lulu when she's older, anyway.

As for where the nickname came from, nicknames don't necessarily have to come directly from the name. My husband's friend has a sister named Liza, but her nickname is Lulu.

i think it's nice. a little cutesy, but not terrible. i also don't really see the connection between the name and the nickname, but i don't really care because i think they're both adorable.
