I LOVE the name Emerson. It was one of the options we kept open if the baby was a boy. It's kinda weird though cuz my boss's name is Emerson (and he's a guy). I'm definitely keeping it in mind though, thanks!

I knew a girl in either middle school or high school named Ember- it was odd but didn't seem too masculine or anything. She was quirky so it worked for her. I don't like the other ones you mentioned.

i like ember, but i think she'd always get called amber. which i also like, but still, might be annoying?

i really like the suggestion of esme. emmy wouldn't be TOO much of a stretch from esme, at least as an affectionate pet name if not an official nickname.

wasn't your original choice emaline? i think if that's the one you love the most, you should go for it. :)
