Thoughts on the name Sagan for a boy?

I know a female Sagan (she's about 20), but I have always thought that it's better suited to a boy. I like it.

Carl Sagan was a cool dude but I don't see Sagan as a first name.

It sounds like "say again" to me.. is that how it's pronounced?

I know a girl names Sagan, but it definitely sounds unisex.

Reminds me of Carl Sagan, who kind of weirds me out a lot. I don't like it.

Mad love for Carl Sagan, but... no.

I don't like it, sorry.

sounds made up and makes me think of Sayan (like Dragon Ball)

As much as I like Carl Sagan, I abhor any name than follows the pattern of two syllables, stress on the first syllable, long A - followed by schwa-n.

That's maybe an awkward way to explain. I hate:
Aidan
Kailyn
Grayson
Sagan

Hear the similarity? Of course, I realize this is the trendiest combination for baby names right now, but I loathe it.

All I think is Carl Sagan. And unless you have some reason for going with that name it strikes me as a surname and if you have no connection to it I'd ditch it.
