my brother's name is Michael Corbett, it's a family name.
Michael, because my dad is named Michael (and actually, that was the start of the michael's in my family, go figure! now i have my dad, my brother, and my husband, hehe) and Corbett because (get ready) my family immigrated to america from Lithuania and that was the family name, my grandfather was born with that last name, but his father died when he was 3 and he then got adopted by someone with the last name we have now, Baldwin, (not me anymore though), and my dad wanted to keep Corbett in the family.

ahh... my dad was born with the last name Boyd and then adopted by my grandfather at age 12 when my grandma remarried. I wanted to use Boyd as a middle name, but I was afraid it would hurt some feelings in my family.

i think it's cute! and i dunno if it'd hurt anyone's feelings, you could talk to some people about it, see how they feel. like ask your mom what she thinks and then your dad. they honestly might be honored, but if it hits a nerve, you'll know before you get too attached.

oh yeah, and, I've seen Corbin for boys all over, but not Korbyn. Like brokenmold said, given the Y, and the start with a K, sounds like a girls name.

Insane spelling is insane, but I do know a little Corban and consider that spelling, at least, to be a "real" name. It's a Hebrew word for holy or consecrated.
