[identity profile] anaphylexis.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
My SIL is about 5 months pregnant with a girl. So far the names she and her husband have picked are Emily, Claire and Sarah. The front runner is Emily Claire (first & middle). As you can see they lean toward for traditional names, but not the oh-so-popular names of the late 80's and early 90's (Amanda, Ashley, Jennifer). Any other name ideas? Middle names welcome as well.

Note: Their last name starts with a G.

Gosh, well, Emily Claire is awfully boring. Perfectly decent, though. Hope she doesn't have heart issues with ECG as her initials!

Sarah and Emily aren't oh-so-popular late 80s/90s names?

News to me. According to that facebook stat thing, I have 22 friends named Sara(h) (and I only have about 300 friends!) and had at least 2-3 Emily's in each of my classes since middle school.

emily claire is okay, but so..boring and plain. i don't know. i'm not a fan.

it's really hard for me to tell what their naming style is exactly, but here are some other suggestions for names that are traditional, but not SO common and overused:

eloise
georgia
iris
josie
juliet
lila
maggie
meredith
molly
penelope
sadie
serena

I like Claire, but Emily always struck me as a boring name, and also quite popular and Claire is pretty popular right now as well

I would spell Emilie this way. I like Emilie Sarah.

From the "we like Emily but want something a little different" dept: Emma, Emmaline, Emmylou, Esme, Amelia, Amelie

Ditto for Claire: Clara, Clarisse/Clarice, Clarissa, Carissa, Camissa, Camille...
