I have always liked Aiden. Everyone here talks about how popular it is, and maybe I live in a weird place, but I encounter an Aiden/Aidan very, very rarely. None of my sister's (12 and 14) know Aiden/Aidan's, and neither of my school age nephews (7 and 5) have any of them in their classes. (However, one of the nephews is named Hayden, but he's the only one in his grade). If you like it enough to call your child Aiden forever, do it. It is a nice name.
I like it, always have loved the meaning and I hate the silly people who say it's just a trendy name when people really only see it as trendy because it sounds like that horrible made-up-name trend. but yeah... I would love to use it as a middle name =) 'little fire' is just too cute to pass up.
I like Aidan. I know that it's supposedly extremely popular, but I've only met one, and he's...fourteen? but yes, the Aidan/Braden/Caden names are very in right now...I know a Brayden and two Caden/Kaydens all under two. so.
I actually have kind of liked Aidan for a really long time, but only that spelling. It's more "correct." However, it's EVERYWHERE, so it's so hard to like it still. Yawn.
Adian is the correct spelling, if it HAS to be used. I would stay far, far, far away from using it as a first name because it's insanely popular. I don't think it sounds pleasing either.
I like Aidan, but I dislike all of the rhyming names it has created. I may be biased because my 2nd/3rd cousin is an Aidan, who's maybe 8 years old now, and he's the cutest little boy ever. And was just as cute growing up! Ha. But I've liked it since I heard it on him.
I've never met an Aiden, but popularity/trendiness aside, I just don't like the name. I don't like anything about it, except that it rhymes with Hayden and Braeden, which I do actually like. Not a fan.
There is a website that takes into account every spelling of a name on the social security list(The address escapes me now). It listed Aiden/an/yn as the number one most popular name in the US in 2008 by a landslide. So my answer is, while it is a nice strong name, he will be one of many in his class.
I like it spelled Aidan. It is in fact one of my favorite names! *dodges tomatoes* I don't think it's really caught on in my area... I've never personally encountered one.
