Shaza - at least I think it's the spelling, at the mall a mom was calling her little girl this. It surprised me because I thought it sounds arabian, but the mom was totally italian and the girl looked totally Irish!
Ansel - I heard this in The Mentalist (tv show), it's a boy's name. I'd never heard it before, but it reminds me of Hansel haha
Kessie - Ansel's sister. Some sources state it's Cassie, but it definitely rhymed with Jessie instead. Anyone know what it could be short for?
Athelina - I dreamed this name tonight. Probably because I was talking with my dad about a lady we know, named Adelina. But I was surprised to learn from Google that it's an actual name! Only weird part is that in the dream I thought it was derived from Athena, but I don't see how it could be.

Thoughts? :)

It's a common British thing to shorten names into first-consonant-plus-"az" (or azza).

So Sharon is VERY frequently nicknamed Shaz or Shazza. I worked with a Sharon who was almost never actually called Sharon.

Ansel reminds me of Ansel Adams — a positive connection.

Happens all the time here in Australia, too. It's really bogan sounding, lol.

Same in Australia... I see "Shazza" I instantly translate it as "Sharon" lol
