Story of my name

My name is Torey and my parents are both into reading true crime, stephen king, murder stories etc.. so they got my name from this creepy book where the girl, Torey, dies by sticking a fork in a toaster. I dont know the name or author, neither do they anymore, but every time I use the toaster my mom freaks out and unplugs it as soon as my toast pops out.
