In doing research for my family tree, I came upon the Andrus family of Utah.  The patriarch was named Milo Andrus and he was one of the first leaders of the Mormon religion.  He had 10 wives and 53 children.

Families like this make me sad. :( Polygamy is not cool. Lucy (mom) has the most interesting names for her children. Who do you think named them? The mother's or the "patriarch"?

I'm not sure. Some of them are nice (Benjamin, Charlotte) and some are just horrible (Millenium, Alma).

I mostly find it interesting how out of all those kids Sarah Ann Miles only had one child. Makes me wonder if she died, had fertility problems, or just wasn't as pretty as the other wives? I also have to wonder how he was able to have 53 kids, even with 10 wives. He must have been horny like a school boy his entire life!
