What do you think of the name Ondine?

I know a woman with a 4 year old daughter named this. The child is lovely, and so is the mom, but I'm not sure about that name...

ETA: From babynames.com:

The meaning of the name Ondine is Wave Of Water

The origin of the name Ondine is French

Notes: Ondine is water goddess in a French folk tale written by Friedrich de la Motte Fouqué. The name comes from the French word Onde which means wave.

I've never heard the name before. It doesn't even sound like a name, to be honest.

I don't like it.

I keep wanting to say Od-ine, even though I see the other N. I can't think of any way to pronouce it that sounds even remotely nice. The meaning is pretty, maybe if someone with a french accent said it it would sound pretty.

I would never use it, but I actually love it. I think it's very elegant.

I knew the name, but I've never known anyone with this name.
I think it doesn't sound as good when pronounced in English, but I don't hate it.

I know an Ondine! She told me her name meant "water spirit" or "water fairy", something like that. I like how it sounds, but after sitting next to her for a semester, she got asked to repeat and then spell her name about every 10 seconds.
