A few kids' (all under the age of 4) names I've come across lately:

Peter
Asher

George

Spicer (f)

Spicer really threw me for a loop. I'm not sure where the heck it came from or if there is a meaning behind it. It just seems really really weird to me.

Also, WDYT about the name Beau for a girl? I associate it with a boy, but it seems the only people I've ever met/heard of named Beau are girls. Thoughts?

My best friend when I was 4 was a little girl named Bo. What I didnt know until I was much older is that Bo was short for Roberta. I always loved her name. If I named a little girl Bo I would spell it Beaux. But I've never met a single girl aside from my friend named Bo in any spelling.

spicer?! Spicer is a company that make bread here in Ireland. Great name there, lol.

I like the name Beau, but I think it should be a boy's name rather than a girl's, wouldn't 'belle' be the equivalent?

Exactly. Beau translates to handsome (and beaux for plural), so it's way off on a girl!

Bo is a girl's name, because it's sometimes used as a nn for Deborah.

My nickname is Bo, and I'm a girl, but I think it should be a boy's given name if it's spelled Beau, and if it's spelled Bo it's really only a good nickname.

I like Peter and George. Spicer is ridiculous. And Beau makes zero sense for a girl since it's a masculine word.

Beau is for a boy. Belle/Bella is the female equivalent.

Asher seems to be getting really, really popular.

Bo is a girl's name, and usually short for something, but Beau is absolutely positively a man's name. Ridiculous on a girl. It's meaning in French is also 100% masculine. I can't see Beau on a girl any more than I can see a name like Harry or Keith being a female name!

Beau is definitely a male name. Naming a girl Beau would be like naming a boy Belle.

WTF at Spicer.

I don't like it, but I have heard of Spicer before -- one of the villains in Titanic was Spicer Lovejoy (although I can't remember him actually being referred to by that name haha).

I love Peter and George, like Asher. Beau on a girl just doesn't make sense.

Since Beau is my favourite name for boys, I really don't see it on girls. I know of girls that are named Beau/Bo, but I don't think that makes it unisex, it's a boy's name on a girl. Kind of weird.

I like Asher. I've only heard Spicer as a surname, so it's really weird as a first name, even more so on a girl, I think.

In The Netherlands (where I live), Bo/Beau for girls is very common. In fact, it was a girl's name to me until I heard of boys called Beau! It's one of those rare absolutely unisex names to me.

I really like Asher...but Spicer is just weird!
