Bettany is actually after Paul Bettany, an actor. I just thought Bette as a nickname would be cute. I'm not a big fan of Bellevie or Biome; I just wanted to see what people thought.
Briony - it's growing on me lately Bettany - No Biome - Nooo Briar (Rose) - in theory a good name, not in practice Bellevie - uh... no. Blythe - it's alright as a middle name Bright - same as Blyhte
I don't know what my bf thinks of names. I'm a little afraid to bring it up since we've been dating for about 6 months and are not planning on kids anytime soon.
Biome? Aside from the fact that it's a science term, I don't like the way it sounds. Not that there's anything wrong with science. I'm the kind of biology nerd who would name kids things like Helicase, Lysosome, and Seaborgium (and twins Xylem and Phloem!) if it were socially acceptable (or if I were an uber-famous celebrity).
I like Blythe a lot. Bettany is kind of cute (though it takes some getting used to), but it's impractical to use on a child because she will always get called Bethany or Brittany.
I love Briony and Bright, and Blythe is alright. I think surname when I see Bettany, it's just kind of weird, I guess I'd rather Bethany, and I think that Biome and Briar are pretty bad.

Date: 2009-09-11 05:42 pm (UTC)Bettany = sounds a made-up mesh of Betty and Bethany, which I really dislike, it sounds obnoxious
Biome = it doesn't sound like a name to me, rather like a science term
Briar (Rose) = I like it written, but the sound reminds me of a lion's roar
Bellevie = in french, it would equal to the phrase "pleasant life", so it's a tad cliché, to me. I'm also afraid it would get mixed with Bellevue quite often.
Blythe = it sounds a little too "lisp-y", but I like that it's also a place name.
Bright = not a name to me. Nouns kinda work, but not adjectives.
