Funny enough I always hated Regina - but I love Regina Spektor... and I threw the combination out and DH actually liked it. And it grows on me everyday.

Elisabeth is DH's maternal grandmother - hence the reason for spelling it that way.

Very nice. I think I'd prefer it if the middle name was spelled with a 'z' instead of 's' in this instance, though. It has a lovely sound altogether, and, despite having some unfavourable associations with the name Regina, I still like it. :o)

I think Regina is beautiful! I actually prefer the pronunciation that you definitely shouldn't use, but both are good. I really don't like the spelling Elisabeth, but can't complain if that's how your family has spelled it.

Yes I knew that. But she wouldn't be called "Queen Elizabeth", she'd be called Regina.

Well, obviously you wouldn't call her 'queen'. I just found it kind of funny that it would be equivalent to Queen Elizabeth...considering how the current monarch also sports this name. *shrugs*
