(no subject)

I do sub work at a preschool and today I met one of the newest little girls.

Her name? Perfect.

WDYT? Personally, I think it's pretty awful. I'm not a huge fan of adjective names to begin with, but I feel like this one is worse than most. It sets high expectations, and I'm guessing middle school will be hell for her. Poor girl. :(

I hate adjective names. It seems like the person is the opposite of their adjective (Chastity's aren't so...chaste, etc.).

that's so funny because my name is chastity and I had a kid in high school. yay mom for picking an awesome name.

I knew a girl named Echo who was pretty quiet.

my dad was married to another woman too, when I was born. WHO NAMES THAT BABY CHASTITY?! baby names are not supposed to be ironic.

I think using adjective names are anti self-fulfilling prophecies. A little girl named Perfect will probably be far from it.

You mean more flawed than the rest of us. ;)

It's a horrible thing to name your child.

[identity profile] quitmyscene.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
The phrase "nobody's perfect" exists for a reason. It's not even a pretty sounding word :/

Totally agree!

D:
Watch, that child is going to turn out to be anything but perfect, lol. >_>

Ha ha! No pressure there.

[identity profile] sarahness.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 12:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it! I plan to use it on my next child, boy or girl, because everything I make is PERFECT!

In all seriousness, that name is not only ridiculous in meaning, but it doesn't even sound good.

I suppose... one could call her Perry? :/ Do not like at all.

Can u imagineher introducing herself, "Hi, Nice to meet you, I'm perfect."

[identity profile] daydream11.livejournal.com 2009-08-29 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Damn parents, setting kids up for pretention and egos out of control Let's hope she doesn't particularly care for fame or even the Ivies.

[identity profile] bluedano.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh the pick up lines she's going to hear... poor girl!

[identity profile] peytonlee.livejournal.com 2009-08-28 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Well I plan on naming my next two children: Perfect and Awesome. Hopefully I have twins!

...I'm really just kidding, I plan on loving my children, not setting them up for a hard life.

[identity profile] cremepuff.livejournal.com 2009-08-29 05:45 am (UTC)(link)
Or she'll turn out as an extremely pushy snob who thinks she's perfect, because, well, technically she is!

Agh...imagine introducing yourself...sucky!
