My little sister is about to start 4th grade and when I went with her to open house I was looking at/critiquing (in my head) the names of her classmates.

The worst?

Dilalable.

..that's pronounced as DelilahBelle.

I was speechless.

The poor teachers (and poorer yet, the substitute teachers) in that school who have to embarrass themselves by grossly mispronouncing that little girl's name and then being laughed at by the other students for it even though the teacher was just pronouncing it exactly the way it is written... *sigh*
