Name Suggestions?

The thing is, I don't like my birth certificate name for personal reasons. (I have nothing against the name itself. If my friend were named it, I would be neutral about it. It's the way I feel about Alex, or Jennifer, or...etc.) I want to rename myself (not legally, just...you know), but the only name I can think of is Kathy (short for Katherine) that I'm sort of comfortable about

I joined this community because I hope that you guys could help pick out names that I might like, as I'm horrible at coming up with names, even if I have a name website right in front of me. I prefer fairly popular names that won't cause double takes (I'm in America). Please don't make long lists, sorry! Female names, preferably 1-4 suggestions per person.

ETA: After being pointed to Nymbler by all these awesome people, I've made a list! Of course, I couldn't help but add some boy names too. :) I don't think I could use them though...(The order is NOT the order of favorites or anything.)

Out of them all, I'm definitely favouring Katherine and Kayden. Aisling, Annabelle, and Sky are more of a cool-names-I'll-never-use, and the rest are just okay...

Oh, thanks for the list! And I'm glad I'm not the only one. :) I've tried Katherine inside one of those things...I forgot the website...I only know I type in "Baby Names World" in Google. Anyway, the names that came out were similar to the ones you left me, and I couldn't seem to find one that...suited me.

Ooh, Audrey is definitely one to consider. Scarlett and Aurora too...I'm afraid I know a girl named Erin, and Lydia is a bit awkward due to a book that my friends and I teased all the time in Year 5, and Fiona reminds me too much of Shrek. >.<

But I absolutely love Audrey, Scarlett, and Aurora! Thank you!

:) Taylor is from "Jellicoe Road" by Melina Marchetta; Caitlin is from "Lucas" by Kevin Brooks; and Sara is just from the fact that the 'h' on Sarah irritates me.

But, yes, they're lovely names. :)

I did this! I went with a variation of my middle name. I'd always wanted to go by that name, since I was about 7 or so. So I went ahead and did it. It's been really hard to transition and a lot of people have a hard time with it, but it's important to me. I second the Nymbler suggestion. When you find the right new name (that looks right, sounds right, & has special meaning for you) you'll know :] Good luck!

lol. Well, I'm leaning toward Kaye today. Just the wrote-out form of K, which could be Kayden or Katherine. I'm still deciding. :)
