[identity profile] killer-inme.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm having a baby boy in November, and my boyfriend and I really can't agree on anything we both like. I'm Swedish and Swiss, and he's very English.
I like the names
- Aarun
- Oskar
- Rhyder/Ryder
- Maddox
- Emette
- Oren

Any suggestions?
If we pick and English first name, then i get to chose a Scandinavian/French middle name

Honestly the creative spellings of the first three make me a little nauseous. Spelling normally I think they are each respectable names, though.

None are really my style but Oren sounds kind of cool.

my apologies. I tried looking the first two up on a name site and they didn't show...I assumed you were trying to be *different.* ;)

Still, Oren is my fave. :)

Is Emette prounounced Emmett? Because I love the name but HATE that particular spelling. Oren is cute. I was considering once for my son but he didn't seem like an Oren to me. Also, it reminds me of Oral.

I love Maddox. (: Though we actually had Ryder as a middle name option for if our baby was a boy. (:

I think Emette looks too feminine and would look much better spelled the traditional way (Emmett).

I think Oren's alright.

Aarun is horrible.
Aaron, on the other hand, is one my favorite names.

I don't mind Ryder and Oskar/Oscar, Oren is too Oreo's and Maddox is too Angelina.
Emette sounds made-up to me, and feminine.

Jens is my favorite Swedish name but out of all of those, I prefer Oren.

I love Ryder, but I can't use it because of my last name.

I actually like all of these except Oskar, but that's just because I've never been a huge fan of that name.

I like Oren. It's very Hebrew, though.

I also like Jens, as another poster suggested.

Aarun is an Australian name, as far as I know, and I don't much care for it.

I don't like Oskar, but I do like Asger (it's Norse).

I like a few Norse names, Calder, Kerr and Torsten.

For Welsh names, I don't care for Maddox, I like Madoc better. I like Aeron, Pennar, Seirian and Terwyn.

Rhyder is actually pronounced RID er. I do like Ryder.

Emette is a girl's name. Emmett is a nice name, though.

Here's a few more English names you might like:

Alden, Archer, Jenner, Madden, Odon, Oran/Orran, Patten, Prescot/Prescott, Riorden, Roden, Seldon, Slayde, Tyron and Ælred.

I like Oskar, and I also like it spelled Oscar.

For other suggestions maybe Lars, Jens, Leon, Wills/Willem, Mattias, Sigmund, Alistair, Dashiell, Charles/Charlie, Jack, Claude, Etienne, Gaspard, Luc, Francois, Johann, Marc, and Lucien.
