(no subject)

I was looking through some name lists and found Gable for a boy. I think I like it. WDYT?

It has a very dashing sound to it. It would be a fine character name. I would think it rather silly to see in real life though, unless it were a family surname being used as a first name or something. It's much too wordy otherwise.

And OT, but your screenname cracks me up. :)

Works cute as a nn for Gabriel!

all I can think of is Clark Gable, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

My first thought was Clark Gable. ^^
I don't care for it very much as a first name.

I have no opinion, however, your user name is OMG the best ever! :-D

It's part of a roof. So it seems kind of absurd as a name, to me.

It reminds me of Anne of Green Gables, and Clark Gable. Those are good things for me.

"The boy's name Gable \g(a)-ble, gab-le\ is of Old French origin. Short form of Gabriel. The name is famous due to actor Clark Gable, who was often known by his surname."

I wouldn't choose it, but I think if I met a little boy named Gable I'd think, "Oh, that's a nice, unusual name.".

I don't like it.

I don't like it. I like it more as a short form of Gabriel than a name in it's own right. Strikes me too much as a surname sort of name and if there's no reasoning behind them, I don't like surnames as first names.
