middle name as a first name??

 me again!  thx to everyone who responded to my "Aaralyn" dilemma ...

NE who.. heres a new question... what do you guys think about using a middle name as a first name? like I really like the name Rebekah with the biblical spelling and all...but i dont really want my kid to go by "becky" or "becca"... and so i paired it with cristiana  and  raquel  so she'd be  Rebekah Cristiana Raquel  but i thought she could go by Raquel  what do you guys think?? yes or no? i know a guy whose name is "George Kyle James" and he goes by Kyle...

My name is Rebecca and I LOVE it.
Most people call me Becky or Beck. HOWEVER, I was in school with TWO other Rebeccas and one of them went solely by Rebecca. So it IS possible. I also had a friend named David who refused to be called Dave.

Most of the people in my boyfriend's family go by their middle names. His mom is Patricia Diane and goes by Diane. His uncle is Howard Dale and goes by Dale. His grandpa is Howard Thomas and goes by Tommy. I could keep going but you get the point. When my boyfriend started school his mom asked him which name he wanted to go by. He picked his first name which is Darrell. Eh. I like his middle name (Matthew) much better. Oh well. Sorry for the ramble!

hey im a rambler too..so no prob! yeah thats another reason i dont wnat to use rebekah as a first name..too popular and from xperience i knwow hat a pin in the but it is having to always spell out your name...**Sigh** but
thats partially my own fault

I've always thought it was dumb to name a child one thing, but call them another. Why not just named them what you want to call them? And use Rebekah as a middle name?

you have a point... but i dont like the way it sounds.. alot of ppl have asked me y i would call them by their middle name... i just dont think Raquel cristiana rebekah or Cristiana rebekah raquel or w/e sounds as nice

i have always gone by my middle name (bianca), my parents had a similar situation where they wanted me to be named bianca but couldnt find a persian name that fit as the middle, so they named me lili bianca, but called me bianca. bianca lili sounds gross, so.....

its just sort of annoying when it comes to first days of school and legal matters because people get confused, and i never know how to fill out my forms. oh well.

Personal opinion: If you want to call them something then name them that.
I know a girl named Jenny b/c thats what her parents wanted to call her. Not Jennifer but Jenny.
if you wanna name her Raquel, then just name her that and find names that go with that name?

thx for ur opinions gals... i still think im gonna keep the way it is... i dont really wanna change it...b/c i like that it has a european feel to it.. w/ the "cristiana" and "raquel" and i like the fact that raquel is a form of rachel..which is a WAY too common name..that im iffy on... i think raquel is a better alternative... but hey thats just me... i dont know- i just kinda like it the way it is... meh..
