a girl, age ten, came in yesterday for ear piercings named dareth marlowe (first and middle name).

while it's not my style, I think it's cute

At first I read the first name as Death. Then Darth. Ahhh, lol.

How does she pronounce it?
I think I like it, but then I'm a fan of Gareth.
Marlowe, I don't, it's a male's name to me.

Oh, I see. I think I'd like it better if it were DAH-reth

I'm not a fan of Dareth but I don't mind Marlo on a girl.

That's such a dramatic name.

I've seen Marlowe mostly as a boys name, but it's starting to grow on me used on a girl.

It sounds really masculine to me. Maybe I'm hearing it wrong, but I can't see it on a young girl. Or an old woman, for that matter. Maybe it would compliment a moody teenager.

Yuck, sounds dark and moody.

Marlowe is HORRIBLE for a girl! And I don't know how to pronounce "Dareth," but I don't like it, however it is.

Awesome.
I so wanted to say "please tell me you don't work at a kiosk at the mall..." but I thought I didn't want to be rude if you did.
Glad this girl with the bizarre name was getting her ears pierced at a proper place!

I kind of like Marlowe, but Dareth looked like 'death' to me, at first glance.

It looks like someone's parents are Star Wars fans.
