What's your take on baby names?
Jan. 18th, 2005 09:21 amHi everyone! I'm new here - just joined today- and I love baby names.
My husband and I currently have 1 daughter. Her name is Kristen Elaine Kadrlik. (pronounced Kud er lick - darn difficult czechoslavakian last name). Anyways, we chose Kristen for no reason other than the fact that we wanted her to have a "K" first name. And Elaine was my deceased grandmother's name. My husband and I are plagued with WAY TOO COMMON/BORING names (Mary and Matthew). We liked Kristen because it's not too common, but it's not like "Where'd they think of that?" uncommon. Kristen turns 3 next week, and we had hoped to be pregnant again by now but due to some medical problems I have to wait until August to even try to get pregnant. Anyways, I have a nephew named Jestyn (like Justin), and my sister is pregnant again. She's thinking of Alysha if it's a girl. I'm wondering what's with the "y" thing? I seem to see a lot of people doing that and if it's ever going to go away?
And if anyone's wondering - when we do have our next child it will be Kelsey Jane for a girl or Adam Michael for a boy.
Also here's a link I always find interesting.

Date: 2005-01-18 08:44 am (UTC)I love the name Kelsey... but prefer the spelling Kelsi or Kelsea for a girl. I think it's a really pretty name, and real cute, but not one of those names that's TOO cutesy that's gonna sound dumb when she's an adult.
I intend on using one of the names - Kristyn, Kelsi, or Kassidy - for a future child. SHeDAISY's my favorite group, musically and because they're awesome people, so my firstborn daughter WILL be named after them or one of them in some aspect. Love all three names, particularly Kassidy and Kelsi. :)
