Ok, even as a hardcore nerd, I am horrified by their reasoning. If they liked the pirates movies or star wars movies so much, they couldn't have gone with Elizabeth Swan or Leia???
Wow - ew. I automatically thought they were boys so I thought well... I guess Shade's not so bad but Styles?! Then I read they're both girls... just ... no.
I think I'll employ this logic to name my future children. I will have two daughters named Tomato Watchmen Theft and Mercury Sensibility Clue. The first will be to honor my boyfriend's job in a restaurant, a movie he loves, and the Grand Theft Auto video game series, a favorite of his. The second will be to honor my job at a car dealership, Sense and Sensibility, both a favorite book and movie of mine, and a board game I enjoy, Clue.
But I'm not trying to be unique or anything, guys, these are totally legit names and I will be so proud when their names are one day called at graduation and the entire crowd laughs!
Okay, I don't like either of these names as full names.
There's just one little part that I do like, and its a totally embarassing guilty pleasure,... Styles.
I don't think I could ever bring myself to use it, especially for a girl. But it just reminds me of Styles from Teen Wolf and he was THE coolest. Haha.
Oh wow. I was rolling my eyes until I saw both of them were girls. Now I'm just speechless.
Hmmmm, and considering my husband just got laid off and signed up for unemployment, using their reasoning our first child would be Deadbeat. Deadbeat Ariel Batman has a nice ring to it, don't you think? ;)
I don't even understand why everyone is going "even worse since they're girls!" Those are horrible names for anyone, regardless of sex. Horrible. No one should have three nouns for names.

Date: 2009-08-03 02:18 pm (UTC)My husband is a computer programmer/IT security guy, and I'm a student working on my masters in Social work...so for first names we'd have..
Java and Erickson, for the computer language and Erik Erikson, who created the psychosocial stages of human development.
Middle names? well we both like the movie Ghostbusters and we play Everquest... so we'd have:
Java Buster Quest and Erickson Ever Ghost!
Java would be the girl of course...haha
