I didn't post for some reason :(

I saw this name on a billboard on my way to town today.

Malissa

I assume it's pronounced like 'Melissa'

The girl who runs the lab I work in is named Malissa. She says it like Melissa. :-)

Don't like the name, but I prefer the regular spelling.

The Malissa I knew pronounced it differently from Melissa - hers was more like "MUH-lissa"

i think its MAH-LISSA.

i know a girl who was named MALINDA MALISSA ( distant relation thru marriage). and her mom the whole first 6 months of her life kept telling everyon ITS MALINDA MALISSA WITH AN A
this girl is now 24 and a mother and we all still call her MALINDA MALISSA WITH AN A. totally off topic i know , but its kind of a warning to parents who get uber touchy and corrective about their kids names.

my former best friend's name is Malissa. we don't speak anymore, but i still prefer this spelling (despite the negative association). her middle name is Crista, so she's Malissa Crista. there's just something i like about it.
