How acceptable or unacceptable do you find Sunshine as a middle name?

Nothing screams "my parents are hippies" quite like it.

To be very honest, if I knew a girl whose middle name was Sunshine, I'd assume her parents were ex-hippies and get a chuckle or three out of it.

There are some words I kind of like as middle names, but could never bring myself to use them. Sunshine would be one of them (Bee is another). It makes me think of hippies and The Babysitter's Club.

Makes me think of hippies. And Sunshine Bear. :)
I'm not sure I like it as a name.

probably not a good middle name, but you could probably find a way to nickname her Sunshine if you wanted. it's one of my nicknames, given to me by two different people (for two very different reasons, haha).

Pretty much anything goes as a middle name, IMO. (I can think of a few exceptions, but Sunshine is not one of them.) I actually know a girl whose first name is Sunshine, so it doesn't faze me as a middle name at all.

Yeah you can get away with a lot when it comes to middle names... and Sunshine is not really that bad considering the atrocities we've seen before. It's hippie-ish but nice.

I'm all for nature-related names, but Sunshine is probably one of the few that quite doesn't make it. It's a little too "cheery".
But I would recommend looking for a name that has that meaning!

still pretty unacceptable. normally i say middle names are fair game but sunshine is exceptionally ridiculous.

I used to really love Sunny. Okay, I kind of still do. I've got some pretty 'unacceptable' names on my list, and I would use them as first names, let alone middle, so I would say go for it. If it was a nice, normal, less hippy-ish first name, I wouldn't see a problem.

I think middle names are pretty much fair game and even though Sunshine isn't my style (I do like Sunny as a nickname though) I think it could work.

I like it! And like others have said, middle names are really fair game and besides, interesting ones make good conversation starters XD

I love Sunshine. I think it's a great name. I honestly don't care about the hippy connotation.

I know someone whose daughter is named Sunshine. She also has a son named Bear.

Abso-friggin-lutely unacceptable... sorry, I wouldn't use it in a million years. Maybe a name with a similar meaning?
