My cat's name is K.Y.

Not after the jelly. My dad got the cat like 10 years ago and his name was already K.Y. and the old (very old) man that my dad got him from said that he had named him after some kind of contstruction machinery that he used before he retired from his job.

People always laugh when I tell them the cat's name.

When I was 15 my friend and I named my cat Jonathan Lars James Turdball Davis Welch Terrance and Phillip Mountbatten Windsor. I called him Johnny cat.

I have two cats - Owen and Jonah. Perfectly good names, right?

Right... if Owen weren't a girl. We had adopted her from some lady who put an ad up for free kittens, and we were told this one was a boy. Since fixing a boy is slightly cheaper, we wanted a boy cat. We had taken her to the vet literally three times before, with the vet knowing we thought it was a boy / her name is Owen, they never corrected us. In fact, up until the day she went in to get fixed.. they said they couldn't neuter this cat because it was a girl :|

Of course, she already knew her name by that point and it was sort of too late to change it. For better or for worse, Owen was one of my favorite boy names and as much as I still love it, I associate it with my female cat :/ At least it sort of narrows down my boys list...

my boyfriends cats are Orion and Oliver and his dog is Luna nn looney or looney Lou.
Every black cat I've ever had has been named blacky.
And my friend once had a fish named vodka.

I have a friend with Walter Croncat, which I find infinitely clever.

My pet names aren't generally clever, but I did have an appropriately named frog named Jimi Hendrix who also died young. My orange and white striped cat is ShereKhan, who certainly is the boss of the neighbor hood. We've also had Jolie and Liebchen (French and German endearments of sorts respectively).

We had a terrier mutt named Player, named by my then-4 year old brother. Our cat Smokey was named by the neighbor we rescued him from, and as you probably guessed he was a grey tabby. :p

My four bettas were named after anime characters: Mayuri, Akaya, Mikoto, and Yuki.

oh yea and my friend has a dog she named wilbur because she is obsessed with charlottes web. no big deal, but the dog is a girl! :)

my cats are Jack and Juno - both male. juno was named juno far before that dumb movie, b the way. i had another cat that was silver and lovely and her name was luna, but she ran away. and my dog's name is rudy, which i love for a dog.

when we were 14, my friends & i found a frog & named it Richard Sircloya Thatcher (if it was a boy) & Glorijoy (if it was a girl; this was also my friend's name). the reason we couldn't tell it's gender was because we didn't succeed in flipping it over. :P also we didn't realize that Sircloya was actually spelt Sequoia (which i kind of like now).

My dog is Oliver James..

Our hairless dog my brother named Yzma, after the character in Emporer's New Groove because of that line, "she's scary beyond all reason"...He felt it appropriate for a hairless dog.

And our cats are Mortimor, who is a girl (we thought she was a boy)...And the two kittens are Mary-Ann and Ginger.
