These aren't necessarily for me to use or anything. I was just looking over name lists (as usual) and thought I'd get some second opinions on these;

Alida
Thea
Clara
Lydia
Vada/Veda
Willa

And lastly, how do you pronounce Camilla? With a MEE or a MILL sound?

I dislike Alida but then that's the name of my brother's mother (dad's first wife) and just icky feelings of her toward my family.

Thea - I like the way I pronounce this in spanish, not sure in english

Clara - is very pretty =)

Lydia - Love this

Vada - um not so much, it's alright but I guess it makes me think of Ava which I am so over.

Willa - Is pretty but I like Willow better.

I say Camilla with the MILL sound in english and MEE in spanish.

How would you pronounce Alida?

I love Willa as a nn for Willow or Willamine (sp?).

Lydia is quite nice, as is Clara. I wouldn't use them, but they sound pretty.

I pronounce Camilla like Cam-MILL-luh. I prefer it that way.

I like Clara and Lydia, and I like Thea as a nickname for Theodora.

I pronounce Camilla 'cah-MILL-uh'. Camila would be 'cah-MEE-luh'.

Willa sounds trashy to me, and I think Lydia is really old and pretty ugly. The other ones, I don't really have opinions on. None of them are my style. I think I would like Thea better as a nickname for Althea.

I say Camilla with the mill sound.

I like Lydia. Clara isn't my style, but it's not bad. Thea is something I'd use as a nickname.

For Camilla, I use the MILL sound.

Ca-MILL-uh.

Of the others...I kind of like Thea, and Willa has been growing on me lately (I used to dislike it).

Alida (uh-lie-duh) is a family name on my father's side, which is the sole reason I ever considered it. I'm really not crazy about it though. The rest of these, I'm sort of neutral on. Don't like or hate any of them.

Alida = too spanish-old-lady for me
Thea = I like it but pronounced it TEH-ah
Clara = it grows on and off me, but recently it's been "on".
Lydia = very classy!
Vada/Veda = too new-age
Willa = nope

Camilla for me is MEE in italian and MILL in english.

My first reaction was to pronounce Camilla the Spanish way, but I'm not Spanish or anything. It just seemed right.
