I was watching LA Ink tonight and a woman came in and got a tattoo of her daughters names on her chest: Raven and Berlin.

I just want to know what everyone here thinks of Berlin?

It's my best friend's name, so I love it simply because of that. :D It's not really my style so without her I probably wouldn't be too fond of it, but since it's her name I think it's fantastic. Fits her very well, too.

I don't like it. I have nothing against using place names as names, unless they are screaming 'IT'S A CITY!' to me. And that's exactly what Berlin does. For me, it's too much of a place name to ever see it as a person's name.

It makes me think of the band Anberlin, even before I think of the city. Weird, I know.

Oh my god, I was totally thinking about this community when she came in. I don't like it though; I was thinking how well her kids' names fit her former goth lifestyle. Particularly Raven, but I don't think Berlin's that great, either.

it depends on how its pronounced.

if its pronounced like merlin... with the stress on the first syllable, then it gets a big fat NO
