I will not have kids for a long time [hopefully!], but I have a thing of staying clear from names of friends I had growing up.

For example I really like the name Georgia but I had a best friend for many years named that. She was nice, but I would feel weird naming my daughter that.

I also like the name Grace but I had a horrible friend named that in 6th grade so I will never ever give my daughter that name.

Do other people feel like this? Or do I just have problems letting go? ; )

you're not alone - when i was growing up one of my best friends was named lydia... i really like the name, but i just couldn't name my child that because i would feel like i was naming it after her.
