[identity profile] serendipitous13.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I'm not having a baby yet. (That I'm aware of anyway!) But I too really love names.
If I ever have a daughter her name will be Audrey for Audrey Hepburn. I'm not sure on a middle name yet. But seeing as how I'm not even pregnant I'm not so worried about it. :)
My favorite name for a boy is Sebastian. My boyfriend doesn't really like it though. He says that if we have a son, his name will be Thomas after his grandfather. That's fine with me too, it's just not my favorite.

I read in an earlier post that not many people like the choice of "Apple" for a little girl. But when you think about it... is it REALLY that bad? I mean, people have named their children "Clementine." That's also a fruit. I would personally never name a child either of those names. But there are plenty of other names that are more KNOWN names that I dislike very much more than those names. For example, I don't think I'd EVER name a son "Enoch." I just don't like the way it sounds.

What's a name you would never name your children?

We swing back and forth from Audrey to Janie on a week to week basis. We like Grace as a middle name with both.

Your comparison of "apples and oranges" *snicker* doesn't make apple any better. Do you actually LIKE the name Clementine? See what I mean? Stay away from fruit

Jose, Maria, Luis, Juan, Jennifer, Adriana (my name )Maribel (I came up with too many insulsts for that)> They are too common and typical Mexican names, which I hate. I'm Mexican but I hate those names.

Another list: Jacob, Makayla, Heather, Claire, anything too American . I prefer pretty foriegn names like Brielle (French) Jelena (Russian) and Lucyna (Polish)

I really like the name Sebastian too for a boy!

Kind of reminds me of the character in The Little Mermaid, but I like it nonetheless.

Belle and Sebastian is also one of my favorite bands. They are scottish, but the name is the title of a french book.

I'd never name my kid anything ending in an -aden sound. Hayden, Jayden, Aiden, Kaden. Way too trendy and just not at all my style.

I like Audrey, though. :)

I initially hated my son's name (his father picked it b/c we had a deal that he got to name a boy)... Gabriel. But, it grew on me.

For a boy (next baby whenever it happens, I'm naming despite the sex)... I want to be Noah Matthew.

For a girl, Chloe Rose.

I would never name my child anything that could give him or her ridicule. Like Dick or Fatima. I also shy away from the over-the-top unusual names such as Apple, or anything else fruit related. Apple doesn't bother me that much, but I really think thats a name a person would more adopt than have their whole life; kind of like a nickname. I would also try my best to give my kid a relatively uncommon name. I always make sure my baby name is always out of top baby list region. Because of this, I've changed my baby names many times. I used to love the name Jaiden. I still do, but its so common right now. :(

I wouldn't want to name my child anything like Ethel, Gertrude, Gladys, Mildred- all of those to me sound horrible and also old fashioned in a bad way. I also wouldn't want to name my child something really weird like Scout or Sailor. Same goes for names with weird spellings to make them "seem unique" (I'm still waiting to see someone to spell Mary like Mairee or Mayrie) and wayyy too trendy names like Aidan, Kylie and Madison. I think Kylie is cute but its used way too often, so I don't like it
