[identity profile] stacilia.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
I am 27 weeks pregnant, and expecting a girl. I've been putting off picking out a name, but I figure I better get to thinking up something, else she will be nameless! So far, I've had alot of trouble with picking out names. I didn't realize just how picky I was! This seems to be the short list I've come up with, and I've taken to try and mix them up to see what I like. I am open to any suggestions about these names, or other names you would place with them. I get tired of searching through endless baby name sites, and would rather just have flat out opinions on it. :)

Madalyn
Malise
Reagan
Ava
Avie
Jane
Scarlett
Adaire
Laila

So far, I really like the name Madalyn, because I can call her Maddy for short. I like Ava, but it seemed a bit too much for a first name, and have been considering it as a middle name. I threw Scarlett in there becuase I am a huge gone with the wind fan, and I don't know of any Scarletts where I live. Laila was tossed in there because of the Eric Clapton song. Lol. Any help on coming up with something unique would be much appreciated!

Madalyn - Don't like that spelling. If I had to go with it, I'd spell it Madeline. Either way, too popular for my taste.
Malise - Reminds me of malaria.
Reagan - Not my style. It's okay though. Do you pronounce it Ree-gan? Because I know a woman named that. I think it's actually fairly feminine. Some people referred to the former president, and I'm thinking they have the wrong pronunciation...
Ava - I think it's pretty, but it's getting very popular.
Avie - Reminds me of aviary or something.
Jane - Classic. Cute.
Scarlett - Reminds me of scarlett fever.
Adaire - Sounds kind of masculine to me.
Laila - Very pretty.

Madalyn: don't like the spelling, prefer Madeleine or Madeline.
Malise: don't like it.
Reagan: like Ronald! Just the image I want my daughter to conjure. ;)
Ava: like it.
Avie: nickname for Ava. Don't name your child a nickname.
Jane: love it.
Scarlett: it's OK.
Adaire: really don't like the name, esp this spelling.
Laila: it's OK. A little porny.
