What do you guys think of the name Caspian for a boy? How would you pronounce it, and any suggestions for a middle name?

Thanks!

Caspian is not a bad name. Just reminds me of The Chrnoicals of Narnia series..but I do like it. I would pronounce it: Cas-Pee-an
A middle name..toughy. Maybe:
Connor
David
Divine
...I guess it depends on the last name?!?!?

I'm not sure how you'd get 'caspen' out of it without spelling it differently.

If the surname is Dolan I think Michael works as a middle name.

"Caspen" would not be the correct pronunciation and a child would ALWAYS be correcting people to say it "his" way.

Also, it reminds me of Casper (the friendly ghost) while Caspien does not at all.

I quite like it.
Errr...how many ways are there to pronounce this name? When I say it, it sounds like Cas-pee-AN...or Cas-pee-EN. Depends. ^^

Pretty well this. I don't know how you would pronounce it other than how it's spelled, honestly.

I love Caspian! Yes it is very "Chronicles of Narnia." My favorite combo is Nicholas Caspian/Caspian Nicholas. I can't use it because I've already used Nicholas. =]

I love it. If it didn't scream Narnia, I'd be all over it. The Caspian Sea puts it firmly in the range of our preference list.

But, yeah. Poorly written apologia. Ew.

Cass-pee-en. If you want to pronounce it "Caspen," just spell it that way.

I love it. I'm not into Narnia much so that wouldn't bother me.

I like it - and though it will make people think of Narnia, he was a good strong character; it's not like naming someone after a villain or a feeble supporting character.

Caspian James
Caspian Edward
Caspian Michael

KAS-pee-in. It's a nice enough name, if you can get past the Chronicles of Narnie reference. Which I can't!

Well, if you don't mind the comments about Narnia, it's a very nice name. ^^
I would pronounce it like in the movie, of course. I don't even see how else it could be pronounced.

It bugs me. I'm not sure why, but for some reason it screams "TRYING TOO HARD" to me, probably because in my mind it is so closely tied to the second Chronicles of Narnia movie.

If it weren't for that, I might like it. I like the nickname Cass that could come out of it.

I really like it. It's one of those names of which I always forget that I like them, strangely enough! I pronounce it CASS-pee-an.

I prefer Casper, but my DH has totally vetoed that because of the Friendly Ghost associations.
