Hello everyone. I'm new here. I'm pregnant with my first child and about (to my calculations) 6wks. I haven't yet been to the doctor. Waiting for a referral to come through.

I do not yet know the sex (duh) but if it's a girl, we've decided to name it Alison because that's my middle name. But I can't seem to think of a middle name to go with it...

any ideas or suggestions?

I read the "What to expect when your expecting' part of the book where they tell you how to calculate it yourself...and I think it would be about Jan. 26....of course it may be completely different than what the doc will tell me haha thanks! :)

I don't know you or anything, obviously, but my best friend's mother did the same thing to her (well her middle names is her mom's first name) and she hates it, well because she very much dislikes her mother. Not that your kid will dislike you, but just in case, you might not want to do that.

Who actually likes thier own name 100% anyway? everyone always has some quirk about it...or their mother. I think it will be fine. They can always change it later in life if they feel like it. thanks though :)

I was reading through some other suggestions and I have nothing to add, except that because Alison ends in an N, you might want to avoid middle names that either being or end with the letter, particularly ending, as it might sound almost rhymey... unless you want to go for that!

Alison is a very versatile name so there are many options. I like Alison Rae, Alison Grace and Alison Claire, personally, they all sound very pretty!
