To me, Janie is already a nickname, unlike Amelia. So I think it would be a little weird to call someon Janie Lainie.
You could do what my father did, and just make up a random name to tack onto the end of the real name. For example, my sister's name is Elizabeth. He calls her Elizabeth Jane, even though there is no Jane in her name whatsoever. There isn't even a Jane in the family! That's my father for you, though.
