What do you all think of a sibset where two names begin with the same letter and the third does not?

Example:
Noah
Nathan
Abigail

Also...what do you think of that sibset? :-P For the record, I don't mind the popularity...I just want to know how it sounds to you all as a sibset.

TIA!

i like it alot.

personally though, i am kind of obsessive compulsive about things being even and having two names start with the same letter and the third not would not be okay in my mind. i wouldn't do it but i'm just weird that way and it doesn't bother me in the least if someone else does.

I would hope it bespoke a lesson learned. I'd be saddened if there became another girl with an A name.

It's better than the names being all the same letter.

Well. If I saw it in real life, I probably wouldn't actually notice it. And, if I did, it would only warrant a tilted head. But, in the context of name lists, it's noticeable. An additional child with a fourth letter would be more than sufficient to wave away any second considerations. But, again, I probably wouldn't actually notice it in a normal context.

It is something I would try not to do, but if a name jumped out at me and it started with the same letter as one of my kids' names I would use it if I couldn't find an equally suitable name. I'm not going to use a name I don't like as well for something most people wouldn't pay any attention to.

I don't think I'd actively try to do it, but it wouldn't bother me a lot if it ended up that way because of the names I loved. I think that sibset is pretty nice but I don't much care for the names individually. They are not really my style, but I have nothing against them.

I like all of them, but I do think that it's weird when 2+ names start with the same letter and one doesn't. With 2/1 it's not that weird, but if there was another one named Nicholas or Nicole, it would be really odd.

PS: This also doesn't bother me that much because Noah/Nathan are males and Abigail is female. I knew a family where boys started with J and girls started with M (two of each: Joel and Jarrett, Megan & Melissa) and so I would assume it was the same idea here. If you had Noah and Natalie and Adam, though, I'd probably be more bothered by it.

I guess the conclusion of this is: it's not horrible, but I can see where some people might raise an eyebrow at it. However, it's a nice sib-set, and if these are your three favorite names, I say go for it. Better than naming them all N names just because you think it'd be cool.

I don't see anything wrong with it; in fact, I'd be glad that the parents weren't choosing names just to fit with a theme. I know a couple with kids named Emma and Elijah with a third kid due any day now, and his name is going to be Luke. I was pretty happy to hear that.

The sibset is fine. They're all nice enough names. They don't do anything for me, but it wouldn't be a bad sibset.

My boyfriends cousin has 4 daughters in order of age: Katherine, Kourtney, Jordan, and Kirstyn. It drives me insane.

Yurgh :(

It really just looks like poor planning, even if they didn't think about it.

Until recently, I wasn't aware that worrying about names in sibsets was something people -did-, haha! >_>; I judge individually...

Anyway, my name begins with "L," both of my brothers names start with "A."

It does drive me crazy, however, when you can tell that its been purposely done: think Kardashians.

like a couple of other people said, this case doesn't bother me because the boys share a first letter and the girl is different.
My cousins have three kids: Zoe, Julian and Jacob. This wouldn't bother me if it weren't for the fact that both mom & dad have J names (Joan and Jared) so Zoe is the only one without a J. It's the same in my family - we are all Ks except for my mom (Ken, Kaitlyn, Krysta... and Deb).
I think that most people don't even notice these things - it's just us crazy name-obsessed people who care about it. lol

I don't think it's that bad at all.

I don't mind it as long as there isn't a second girl coming along and a pattern emerges.

I like that sibset but I do find two names beginning with the same letter and the third not a little off.

My husband, daughter and I all have R names but our son's starts with Z.
Obviously my husband and I can't help what our parents named us and our daughter's name starting with R was never intentional.

Then along came baby #2 and we searched for R names, but couldn't find one we loved so we found something we did.

My cousin named her first 3 girls Erin, Elizabeth, and Emma...then randomly named her 4th Sophia XD I think it's kind of hilarious! She claims she didn't realize until Emma, but she loved the name too much to care. Then she was thinking about another E name to keep up the trend, but loved Sophia too much to pass it up.
