[identity profile] 120508.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames

This might be old news but I just read that Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O'Connell had twins in December who they named

Dolly Rebecca Rose & Charlie Tamara Tulip

Apparently the name Charlie comes from Jerry O'Connells brother (Charlie O'Connell), and Dolly comes from Rebecca Romijn's love for Dolly Parton.

Regardless of their reasoning for name choices, I really wanted to vomit when I read the names. Yuck.

What do you all think?

I love Charlie on a girl, but mainly as a nn.

I was really, really underwhelmed with their choices. I really do not like their names at all...in fact, I kinda cringe everytime I see them :\

Dolly and Charlie nearly rhyme, which is bad. The the two middles are Decent name + Flower.

I do like Dolly (as a nickname), Rebecca and Tamara.

I'm not too fond of more than one middle name but I like Rebecca, Rose and Charlie.

When it's been more than 6 months since it happened, it's generally old news around here, where half the time, celebrity baby names are posted five or six times the day the baby was born. :)

I think the names would be better if the first names were left off, leaving just Rebecca Rose and Tamara Tulip. Better would be Rebecca Tulip and Tamara Rose, so as not to have the alliteration.

I hate Charlie on a girl. I don't mind Dolly but paired with Charlie, they sound too similar to me.

I like the name Charlie, but overall, yea, those are pretty friggin' awful.

I actually like those names. Tamara seems a bit girly, but Tulip is strangely strong sounding.

I love the name Charlie on a girl, but I think I would use it as a nickname for Charlotte.

Tamara is okay, and I like Rebecca (but spelled Rebekah). Rose is also okay, but Tulip is taking it over the top. They couldn't pick a flower that is actually a name?
