My husband and I have been talking a lot about baby names...for the future. This weekend at Kings Dominion (an amusement park) we walked past one of those booths that you get your name on a fancy paper and it has the meaning of your name and information about it. Well, the name Lorelai was one of the ones being displayed. I've always liked that name and turns out my husband likes it too.

Soo...what middle names go good with Lorelai? Our last name is Murtha. I don't like initials that spell things, double letters (no middle names that start with L or M) or rhyming names.

I love Lorelai Grace but the name Grace has been ruined for me. :(

EDIT: I've said here before that I hate the name Ruth...but I think that with Lorelai its kinda nice. So, what do you guys think of Lorelai Ruth? Ruth comes from both of our mother's middle names. Which would be nice since if we have two girls the first would have the middle name after our fathers (both first name Joseph and go by Joe), and the second would have the middle name after our mothers.

I CAN'T use Grace! It was WAY ruined for me...ex roommate's dog's name was Princess Grace and she just..ugh, its too early in the morning for me to explain, you'd probably get sick. Yeah, its that bad...so no Grace!

Yeah i'm not really a fan of rose. Its nice but i hate roses so thats probably why.

I like Lorelai Marie but 1. its a filler and 2. I don't like the double "M" (which also nixes Mary and Meredith).

People say to watch out for initials, but really, it doesn't matter that much. Unless the initials are ASS or FAT or something obvious like that. LEM isn't so bad. My brother's initials are JEB, but nobody cares. Of course, he won't tell anyone his middle name but I have a feeling that even if he did, nobody would care that his initials spelled JEB.

I care about the intials. Others might not, but its a big deal to me. Its part of liking a name or not to me...the intials. Mine are JCM, my husbands JBM, I've also previously had the intials JNS (birth), JNC (after changing last name). I didn't like JNC, and really didn't like JC until I started going by Jaycee because of the intials. So yeah, they're important to me...though my husband could care less...as his mother also must have felt giving his brother the initals BM.

Eh, its not all its cracked up to be. First of all, my mom wouldn't really care as she hates the name as well. My husband's mother would never know, she passed away about 3 years ago. I hate the name...I just think it goes well with Lorelai

my name is Lorelei (well, it will be once I can cough up 500$). I've decided to probably not take a middle name, because Lorelei Black is... wayyy too dramatic as it is, in everyone's opinion haha.
