Jun. 9th, 2006 04:24 pmI've posted some of these before (like nearly a year ago) but I just thought I'd see what you guys thought of the names my husband and I have picked out for our eventual children. No plans yet to have any, but it's always good to be prepared!
Girls:
Kaeslin Amari (CASE-lynn AM-uh-ree)
Zoe Lane (Zo-ee, not Zo)
Boys:
Tidus Aaron
Elijah Malachi
Other names we've talked about:
Mika, Isabella, Arianna, Jarin, Aja (pronounced like Asia), Katrinka, Karen
Brody, Garik, Xavier, Jabe, Bryon Robert (my dad's middle and his dad's first names), Silas
I've been back and forth on the spelling of Kaeslin. I dont like the way it looks with a C, Caeslin, I like the way it looks with a y, Kaeslyn, but I'm afraid it's too........ ya know, tossing the y's in every chance you get.. I remember someone giving the advice that eventually if she tries to become a business woman she's going to get more respect with an adult looking name than one that always seems like she's 5, but I'm just not sure which would be best:
Caeslin, Caeslyn, Kaeslin, Kaeslyn (obviously, the K and the i is my top choice right now)

Date: 2006-06-09 10:19 pm (UTC)Tidus is ok, also sounds made up. I love both Elijah and Malachi, but not together.
Of your "other names," I like Ariana and Brody.

Date: 2006-06-10 12:17 am (UTC)Zoe Lane is fine, I don't like Lyn as a middle name, and I would spell Zoe like you do too
I'm still finding Kaeslin a bit hard to pronounce

Date: 2006-06-10 01:55 am (UTC)I love Elijah Malachi. I'd prefer Titus to Tidus - Tidus sounds like a dish detergent or something.

Date: 2006-06-10 11:43 pm (UTC)It's a dutch name. It means Kathy, which is my mothers name. When she was a child, she had a really bad lisp (she was "dutchy") and her grandpa always called her Katrinka because of it.

Date: 2006-06-10 11:28 am (UTC)I like the "K" also, with the "C", I think people would say the name wrong.

Date: 2006-06-10 04:22 pm (UTC)Plus in any spelling, it's just one of those contrived trendy names that doesn't look like much to me. Caitlin, Caelin, Keelee, Kayley, Kaeslin, Caeden, Kaitlynne, Kaillen, Kaelen, Caylen. Add in all the other names that start with an "AY" sound and end with a "lyn" or "en" sound and it's impossible to keep them straint. Jaden, Brayden, Gracelyn... all with 35 kreaetyv speleens each. Boring.
I like your other three names though!
