[identity profile] botica.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Hey guys.

So my sister just found out she's having a boy [there are only girls in our family so it's beyond exciting] and we need some help with the first name. She has a middle name picked out but it isn't set in stone: Arlington. She is going for a strong name; not into super creative or popular names. In her words, "I want it to sound like a bankers, presidents, or CEOs name" XD

What do you think?

EDIT: Do any of you know of a baby name generator site? Anything that searchs for names similar to your tastes.

I kind of hate it, having grown up in Northern Virginia and lived in Massachusetts, but then again middle names are pretty inconsequential anyway.

You're welcome. I love that name and think it sounds very strong and sophisticated with our last name (which is Harrington) so I immediately thought of it with Arlington.

its ok if she doesnt mind naming him after a cemetery.

if she wants a upper crust sounding name how about Astor. As current naming trends are going tho Arlington is ok.

I have to agree growing up in Maryland I automatically think of Arlington National Cemetary.

And I would NOT use Richard Arlington....Richmond, VA and Arlington, VA....Richard Arlington sounds like a tribute to Virginia.

i was born and raised my whole life in indiana, still live here now, and the first thing i thought of was arlington national cemetery.

if it weren't for that, its a really cool name and i'd love it.

also check out whatalovelyname.com
you can search for names that fit into different categories - i think there is a "strong" category on there.
