[identity profile] thecityisdead17.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] babynames
Ok so after reading the comments on my last post i'm starting to think Boston Jude is not such a good name.
(although I really like it it does just sound like a nickname)
Can you think of any good names that go with Hale?
p.s. We REALLY  hate common names.

Why do you think that it's not a good name now? :P

I think it's nice. (: It goes well together.

I think Boston sounds like a good first name. I like different names, too. I personally wouldn't see Boston as a nickname.

Thank you. (:

I don't like how common Bailey is. But, my SO loves it, I like it, and it has stuck as her first name. Hoping to come up with an unpopular middle name very soon for her. :P

I'm confused: was Boston Jude *supposed* to be for a girl?
Then it definitely was a good idea to change it.

Hale is not supposed to be Hayley, right? Because I'd read it as Hale, rhyming with (ginger) ale.

Perhaps give us a little more info on the names you like, or your own names, or the complete name of the other twin if it's chosen, etc. ?

Yeah, definitely don't go with Boston. Boston & Janelle is just...odd. Really really odd. Boston would be weird enough on its own, but I think it would be even more pronounced next to Janelle.

ahh ok I was thinking Hale was the other twin's name!
can I say phew? lol perfectly fine last name, just not first or middle name!

I think Boston and Janelle make a cute sibset, although the autistic side of me wants to say Boston is a city and Janelle is not, but it would actually be too matchy otherwise!

But if you want to window-shop on names, there you go:
Emery
Everett
Winston
Curtis
Logan
Dylan
Adrian
Nolan

There are TONS of names that go with Hale. I'd personally say anything other than Nathan (can't top the other Nathan Hale!) Some good names from lower down on the SSA list (500 and below):
Ronan
Pierce
Warren
Conor
Frederick
Kieran
Orion
Craig
Jefferson
Blaine
Finnegan
Brennen
Jamie
Rhett
Rhys
Atticus
Clark
Heath
Duncan
Soren (although Soren Hale may sound kind of weird)
Todd
Killian
Sidney (although uninformed people may think that this is also feminine, Sydney is the feminine spelling)
Finley
Jarrett
Broderick
Alden
Hugh

I'm sure you/hubby aren't going to like most of them, but maybe there are one or two in there. Jude is a nice name, btw. I think Boston is what got more objections.

Kieran can be "keer-an", although I tend to say "key-air-an". Both are right since it's an Anglicization of a Gaelic name and some sounds don't translate exactly.

Ha! I had Soren on my list, too. I like the sound of Soren Hale, though, and I love Soren - I like most Scandinavian names.

I like the sound of it, but the more I said it, the more it sounds more like "soaring hail".

I also really really really like Jude - stick with that with the middle name if you can. Or, if you like Jude, go with Julian/Judah or just use Jude.

My friend's 8-year-old's name is Hudson and I LOVE it.

Jasper and Emmett are pretty Twilight-y i guess. Which sucks, because I ADORE both the names but OMG are those books godawful.

PS - I know the double H is probably going to cause some pause, but Hudson Hale actually sounds really good, I think, and with the right middle name, it would totally work. Hudson Jude Hale sounds fantastic.

I love Hudson Van Hale. Sounds so rockstar!

This community is generally quite conservative/traditional/whatever you want to call it when it comes to names. That doesn't necessarily mean Boston Jude is bad! I think it goes well with Hale.

I think Roman and Janelle sound great as twins!

btw - I love the name Janelle and I'm so jealous that you get to use it. ;) My husband has a cousin named Janel and doesn't want to name any of our children directly after family members, so it's off my list unfortunately!

I love, love, love Jude. I think you should use it.

Jude Edison?
(I love Edison; my husband vetoed.)
Jude Thomas
Marcus Jude

But, while I'm kinda eh about Boston, I'm considering other place names, and Boston Jude sounded pretty good. Maybe go for something with a similar sound?

Dayton
Dalton
Crispin (okay, maybe not)
Balin
Ciprian

I think they'd sound reasonably good with Jude or Hale.
