What's the feeling on Mia? How is it pronouced?
Me-uh or my-uh? I've always pronounced my-uh as Maya and me-uh Mia, but i dont know if that's just me...

It's nice, but not something I'd use.

As for pronunciation, it's generally pronounced to rhyme with the first part of Chia Pet or the last part of, um, diarrhea. (And I do wish I had pulled those examples out of the blue, but no such luck.)

For instance, in preschool, there was a girl in class named Sara Longley. She wore short dresses that showed her long slender legs, so the kids taunted her as "Sara Longlegs," like the spider. It's not as if there is anything wrong with having long legs, but Sara reacted to the teasing (which was pretty consistent, actually; people weren't very kind to her), and that was incentive enough for the teasing to continue. :( We're really quite uncivilized little animals at that age.
The name thing, well, the only lasting effect that had was to leave a bit of bad feeling about the name. It wasn't an attack on my being, only a poking because of a name. But poor little Sara... after all these years, I still wonder what happened to her.
(Sara, if you are out there reading, I apologize on behalf of your classmates.)
