well i think caden is a little better than earl! ..but i tried to stay away from den. names too but i like this one. and anthony is my brothers name and the babies paternal grandpas name.
waayyy too popular for my tastes, but it is nice... be ready for 7 other boys in his class with the same first name though... the trend is sweeping the nation ;)!
As has been noted 'den names are quite trendy right now, but Caden is the least common of those and not quite into 'five per class' territory just yet.
but little Caden is gonna be in classes full of Jayden, Aiden, Braedon, Hayden's etc. They all have such similar sounds, it's only the first letter that's different, so I think it's still a huge problem.
On top of the fact that your boy would be one of ten -adens in his class, it's not even well established that Caden actually means warrior. I would go with cj_ized's suggestions, or even Gunnar, Kemp or Clancy. Cáel was a warrior in Irish mythology, that is a name in the style of Caden.
Well, I really like Caden, but I think people have made some good points about the plethora of -aden sounding names. From other people's recommendations I love Cael, Nolan, and Duncan.
I grew up with a pretty popular name and while it can suck to just be one of many, I don't believe it detracts from the appeal of a name. If you want to stick with Caden, I don't think you need to be deterred by the popularity of the sound.
And, Anthony is not a name I particulary like personally, but I think it is a nice name that works well with Caden.

Date: 2006-06-06 10:03 pm (UTC)There are so many Cadens, Kadens, Jadens, Aidens, Braydens, Haydens, etc. If having an unusual name is important to you I'd stay away.
Nolan is probably your best bet. :)
